As an enthusiastic traveller, I am always looking for new destinations to explore and new experiences. And after some time of not being able to visit Japan, to hesitating to visit Japan due to restrictions, the news that Japan is bringing forward the end of border controls is music to my ears.

The Japanese government is making arrangements to end COVID-19 border controls as early as this Saturday 29 April 2023, just in time for the upcoming Golden Week holidays. This means that travellers from certain countries may be able to enter Japan without undergoing a quarantine period, as long as they meet certain conditions such as being fully vaccinated and presenting negative COVID-19 test results. However, as usual, please avoid travelling during Golden Week unless you love crowds and overpriced accommodations.

For people who have always been fascinated by Japan’s rich culture and history, this news will leave you itching to pack your bags and book your tickets in no time! From the vibrant streets of Tokyo to the tranquil beauty of Kyoto, Japan is a country that you can never get bored visiting and after being unable to travel for so long, it’s time to spend those cash you have been saving up for isn’t it?

However, be aware of the need for caution and the importance of prioritizing public health., take social responsibility like what every website and customs will tell you. After all, you know your body best. The prospect of being able to do so sooner rather than later is incredibly exciting.

Kudos to the Japanese Government for making such a move which everybody can appreciate! In case you have not noticed, the prices of JR passes are going to have a massive fare hike of over 50% coming October. I can’t think of a better time to travel than now.
